I’ve mentioned before (many times) that I used to be a pro wrestler.

It’s an important part of who I am and has shaped a lot of the way I think nowadays.

I’d always enjoyed watching it as a child and thought it’d be fun to try.

Never really thought I could or would.

But I vowed on my 21st birthday to give it a go.

I finished my degree in Manufacturing Engineering with Operations Management that summer and instead embarked on joint careers in fitness and wrestling.

Since graduating 13 years ago this summer, I reckon I’ve made an average of 20 grand a year less than my friends who went into the industries they’d qualified in.

So – quarter of a million pounds down for doing what I wanted to do.

In both the wrestling and the fitness industry.

But, I don’t regret a second or a penny.

I know I wouldn’t be happy it that life I was heading into.

I’d be an overweight, stressed and unfit engineering manager of some sort.

I wouldn’t have the life I do now.

Everything has a price.

Everything.

Every choice or action means not making or taking another choice or action.

Taking time to exercise or prepare healthy food WILL take time away from some other activity.

Whether it be watching TV, chilling, etc.

Making changes in one area WILL mean changes in other areas.

The key is to decide what to prioritise.

Decide what’s important.

And take that over the other stuff.

Much love,
