You can’t please all of the people of the time.
So goes the old expression.
And it’s true.
Whilst we get overwhelmingly positive feedback (highest feedback on Google, Facebook, FreeIndex and Yelp in a huge radius), not everyone is always 100% happy.
We had one member comment on Facebook recently about his experience with us – ‘A word of warning about the RISE’.
Fascinating reading it was.
Apparently he wasn’t made aware of the cancellation policy and general terms of the challenge.
Even though they were covered in the briefing meeting, he initialed and signed to say he understood them (not small print, a big tick box), he clicked to confirm acceptance of the T&Cs when he first logged into the booking system, and he was emailed a link to a copy of the T&Cs after joining.
Apparently you get ‘nothing’ in exchange for doing the challenge.
We must have imagined the sessions and the coaching and support systems that everyone else use to such great success.
He also warned friends that the 20lbs challenge involved healthy eating, drinking more water and less caffeine and alcohol.
And that we encourage people to work at an appropriate intensity for them in sessions (not too hard, not too easy).
Madness, I know!
We don’t chase people up if they haven’t been in?
We do, but not a few days after the last time they were in and when they’re still booked in for the rest of the week.
We don’t give refunds for no reason?
True that – we have bills to pay and I have kids to feed!
And apparently Matt is a “narcissistic bully who hates fat people”.
Which is a bit like saying that someone who works for Greenpeace hates whales in my mind.
So, here is a word of warning about RISE from us to you.
We will do everything we can to support you.
Struggling is fine.
Needing help is cool.
But if you aren’t willing to take responsibility for your actions….
Or lack of ….
If you are going to blame everyone else for things going wrong …..
If you’re going to pretend things weren’t made super clear to you when they were …..
If you you’re going to take general observations and thought challenging comments personally ….
Then what we do ISN’T for you.
Neither side is going to benefit from us working together.
No hard feelings, we’re just not a good fit for each other.
If you are willing to take responsibility for your own actions but just need some help, direction and support, then you might like to come down and find out more at our next briefing meeting.
There’s not pressure, no sales, we’d rather put you off if you’re not ready.
But, yeah – you will have to decide if you want to apply or not after the meeting – weird, heh?
Check it out at myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting.
Much love,
Jon ‘Genuinely would rather put people off’ Hall and Matt ‘Wasted a lot of time and money just to bully fat people’ Nicholson
