A lot of what we’re told we ‘need’ to succeed are actually “nice to haves”.
They’re not as essential as people make out.
Motivation, as I’ve mentioned many times, is one.
Belief is another.
You’ll see it everywhere: “If you believe it, you can achieve it”.
And that sounds lovely.
But what if you don’t believe that you can do it?
What if you’ve tried in the past and it hasn’t happened?
That niggling voice saying it’ll just happen again?
So we don’t even start.
We almost sit at home waiting for the “belief bus” to come to us.
But belief is actually a “nice to have”.
It’s not really needed.
Your body responds the same way regardless of what you believe.
Improved nutrition and effective exercise don’t wait for our brain to give them permission to work.
They just work.
We can start irrespective of what we believe.
Then belief catches up.
Belief is a form of confidence.
Confidence that something will happen.
Confidence that something will happen comes from that thing happening.
From evidence.
So however you feel, do it anyway.
If you don’t believe it, you can achieve it.
Much love,
Jon
