We’ve mentioned before that, with having a successful business, a lot of our FitPro friends ask for advice.

Which is cool if they’re not in direct competition with us.

Usually the questions are about getting new clients.

Which is valid, but there’s often a lot of ‘holes in the bucket’ that need plugging before more water is poured in.

I’ll often ask them what they’re doing to get clients now.

And, inevitably, it’s free stuff.

Posting a lot on social media.

Particularly in local groups.

You know – “Facebay”, “For sale or free in Location” and so on.

Usually with offers of some sort.

“How does that work out?” I’ll ask.

“They’re all time wasters. Just after a freebie” they’ll usually reply.

Which is pretty obvious.

Advertise with something free (or reduced) in a group about cheap or free stuff and what do you expect?

Doesn’t mean those people are time wasters at all.

They’re just getting what they were promised.

And it doesn’t mean those same people might not have become long term members under different circumstances.

We all have different mindsets about different things at different times in different situations.

And the mindset we have about something ‘going in’ can massively affect what happens then.

Whilst we’re famous for our ‘8 week challenges’………..

We’re very clear before people actually get started that it’s more “the first 8 weeks of the rest of my life”.

There’s no tie in to continue after two months, of course.

Circumstances change and we don’t want or need to lock people into something they can’t use.

But it’s defintely not a short term quick fix that people plan to stop and return to old habits.

It’s a sprint start to a marathon.

Research shows that better short term results lead to longer term success more often than a ‘slow and steady’ start.

That’s actual published, peer reviewed research.

Not just what some FitPro will tell you becuase it justifies the lack of any verifiable results from their clients.

Slowing down and speeding up is, of course, fine.

Necessary really.

It’s the completely stopping that we’re not up for!

If you’re already somewhere in that ‘race’, then this is a powerful thing to accept.

There is no ‘finish line’.

If you need to get started again still, here’s what you need to do. The meeting is TONIGHT. Don’t “leave it” another month (or more) – – > myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting.

Much love,
