Have you ever thought that it’s “all too much”?

I’m sure we all have.

Over the years I’ve had countless people tell me that about what they feel they should be doing in order to lose weight and improve their health and fitness.

Well, I’ve got some good news for you

“All” is always too much.

It is for everyone

None of us manage to do “all” in regards to our health and fitness

Every single one of us could be eating better and doing more (and / or more effective) exercise.

So maybe we should take “all” off the table?

Because anytime we think that we should be doing it “all”, we’re inviting overwhelm and frustration.

If literally nobody is doing “all”, it’s a fairly pointless goal to have.

Every single one of us is doing a suboptimal version.

And that’s fine

What we can do instead is just to choose which suboptimal version we feel we can do at that point

Enough to take us somewhat in the right direction………

Or maybe for now, just cause damage limitation.

Because when we’re aiming for “all”, the alternative is “nothing”.

And I’ve never encountered a bigger killer of results and forward progress than “all or nothing”.

Remember that no one does “all”.

You won’t be doing “all”.

Aiming for “all” is pointless.

Let’s just become OK with that knowingly suboptimal and done.

Much love,

Jon ‘It’s all coming back to me now’ Hall

P.S. It’s not uncommon that I hear from people that local FitPros tell people that what they do is “better” than what we do at RISE. And I’ve no doubt in some ways it is. But when we publish at least one success story every single day and they, as far as I can see, usually have somewhere between none and a few, you have to question if “better” really is better. It’s www.myrise.co.uk/apply when you’re ready for knowingly sub-optimal but actually way better results!
