A few months ago I talked in here about the banner that’s gone up on the roundabout near my house for a local GloboGym.
Specifying “Are you willing to give whatever it takes?”
And how, for me at least, that’s somewhat off putting.
I was reminded of that other day with a meme that I saw online.
I’ve seen the exact phrase many times over the last few decades.
The title to this blog.
“All it takes is all you’ve got”
That’s even worse in my book.
And this (kinda) is my book.
All I’ve got?
That sounds an incredible doesn’t it?
If I were to have to give all I’ve got in order to get in better shape that would take away massively from what I could do for my kids.
For my wife.
For and with friends and family.
My ability to run the business and everything that entails.
If that’s what it takes…….
I’m out.
Thankfully, it doesn’t.
Maybe to get in world class shape, it does.
And, even then, it’s still not really absolutely everything someone’s got.
We can all get in reasonably better shape by only dedicating a relatively small percentage of our time, energy and, potentially, money (the extra pound or so a day a Group Personal Training programme like this costs compared to a gym has been described by countless members of ours over the years as “the best investment I’ve ever made in myself” – it’s www.myrise.co.uk/apply to try that out, with a Money Back Guarantee).
Probably a smaller percentage than we might tell ourselves at times.
We can make better food choices that require zero additional time and effort.
We can get in some effective exercise in only a small percentage of the time there is in a week.
There’s probably a few things that we can stop doing that will both benefit the results we get and free up time and energy.
It doesn’t require ‘all we’ve got’.
It probably doesn’t require as much as we sometimes think.
So, let’s just make some better choices today.
Because, ultimately, that’s all that exists.
Much love,
Jon ‘Take That’ Hall
