Yesterday’s blog about my dog was supposed to be a different one.
This one.
When I started writing it, it ended up veering off.
So, here’s what I originally intended to write.
I usually try and take the dog out for a walk first thing.
For a few reasons.
1. Gets a walk in the bag early doors
2. Calms her down a bit for when the rest of the house start to get up
3. She’s much more responsive to treats before she’s had breakfast.
When she’s hungry she’ll be more up for doing training with treats being part of the benefit for doing the requested behaviour.
Walking her when hungry is the best time to do it.
Kinda the opposite to food shopping.
Doing that whilst hungry is usually the worst time to do it.
Things “jump into” our trolley.
Tasty looking things.
Things that will probably make the difference between us hitting deficit or maintenance calories this week………
And us ending up in a surplus.
Losing or maintaining weight.
Versus gaining it.
Shopping when not hungry will probably mean we make better choices overall.
And, even better, not shopping in a shop will probably lead to the best choices.
A couple of minutes after a meal thinking about the coming week………..
And doing an online food order………
Will, for most, lead to the maximum chance of the average food choices we make being ones that will take us in the direction we want to go in!
Much love,

P.S. Sometimes I try and subtly insert the links in these blogs. Sometimes not so much. It’s late on a Sunday night and I’m tired.
