I mentioned the other day about how, despite what many people will tell us, we will benefit from looking backwards.

Like taking the baton in a relay race and using that to help propel us forwards.

The thing is though, in a relay race, there’s an end in sight.

We just need to either run to the next person or to the finishing line.

Whereas in life they usually either isn’t a finishing line, or it’s a very long way away.

So, if anything, we need to look back more.

If we can’t see that we’re getting closer to the finishing line, it’s easy to get to motivated.

If we can see that we’re getting further away from where we were, we’ll keep going.
