💡💡💡

I did a live video on Facebook the other day.

‘Are you willing to “suck”?’ it was entitled.

It got a lot of views and a lot of comments.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t actually mean it to be something of a double entendre.

My intention was entirely innocent.

Anyone else’s other interpretation is just their filthy mind 😉

What I actually talked about is that phase of doing something where we, essentially, suck at it.

We’re not very good.

We’re trying, and it’s a struggle.

We think “I’m not cut out for this”.

It feels like yet another ‘thing’ on top of everything else.

The results don’t seem to be reflective of the effort we’re putting into it.

But, as we’ve mentioned before, this is the phase where we actually make the most progress.

Improve the most.

When it starts to get easier, we still improve, of course.

But not as much proportionally.

Brain scans show the changes happening in there to be the greatest at that most frustrating point.

The point where we, essentially, suck.

So, a willingness to suck is key.

Everything we ever got good at, we worked through that phase where we sucked.

Exercise, better food choices and the like are no different.

We just need to do it when it’s hard.

Not doing it (frequently, regularly and consistently enough) will mean we never get any better.

Doing it, even when it feels hard and frustrating……. will!

Much love,
