I’ve mentioned many times before that when you’re in this line of work, there are certain questions you get asked consistently.
As there are in all lines of work, I’m sure.
I’m not talking about the ones people ask about their own situation;
“What do I need to do to…………?”
“How do I………….?”
“What’s the best way to………….?”
“Why can’t I…………..?”
Etc.
But more the questions we get asked about our own lives.
Along the lines of “What do you eat / do?”
If I had a pound for every time I was asked “Aren’t you ever naughty?”……………
Usually asked with a bit of a cheeky sideways glance and with a grin………..
Well, I wouldn’t be rich.
But I’d probably have several hundred pounds.
So, what’s the answer.
Googling the definition of “naughty” gives;
“badly behaved”.
And googling those two words turns it to;
“conducting oneself in an unsatisfactory, inadequate, or unsuccessful way”.
So based on that, the answer is “No”.
I’ve eaten cake, but that was good.
Pizza, ice cream, biscuits and any other food you could think of as well.
I’ve drunk alcohol but that too was good.
If we’re veering outside of the usual FitPro remit of food and drink………….
I’ve slept with more than my fair share of people………..
Had plenty of amazing experiences………….
But it all worked as part of an average I was happy with.
None of it was unsatisfactory, inadequate, or unsuccessful.
Well, not in the volume I did them.
There are things I won’t do again.
But even they weren’t naughty – just things I tried.
I could’ve popped a bit of guilt on top of all those experiences and taken some of the enjoyment out of them I suppose…………..
They could’ve been both “good” and “naughty”…………
But why not just make them good?
As always, no right or wrong.
If thinking of certain behaviours as “naughty” helps and works for you, that’s awesome.
Crack on!
If it puts them on a pedestal over other choices…………..
And means the balance isn’t working for you overall……………
It’s maybe worth questioning.
Much love,
