As a whole, the Fitness Industry is obsessed with achieving the highest possible standards.
It’s about six pack abs, single digit body fat percentages and super heavy one-rep-max lifts.
And that’s great for the percentage of the population for who such levels may happen.
And I get it.
That’s often the sort of stuff that sells magazines, products and programmes.
I don’t know how well a programme that offered average body fat percentages would sell.
But, by definition alone, average body fat percentage (or anything else) would be an improvement for just under 50% of the population.
For some, it would be many beneficial steps in a positive direction.
And for many, the idea of reaching very high levels is just so far away from what they feel they can do that it not only doesn’t motivate them, it’s often quite off-putting.
It makes many think “I can’t do that”.
Or “That person doesn’t ‘get’ me”.
Wherever we’re at and whatever we want to improve……….
We could probably all aim to get 5 or 10% better over the coming months.
That might not sell magazines, but it feels very doable.
And those 5 or 10%s can quickly add up (and we can help you add them up much quicker than you will by yourself, promise –> www.myrise.co.uk/apply) .
If losing five stone feels too much…….
Could we just lose 1lb?
And then do that again for a total of 70 times?
Or could we just lose a total of a stone and be better off then where we were before?
And then, maybe, reassess at that point?
As always, no right or wrong
Your body, your life.
Do with both as you wish.
But if the elite levels that the majority of the Fitness Industry promote, don’t feel like something you could, or would want to, aim for………
Then let’s maybe try 10% more, or an equivalent, for now.
Much love,
Jon ‘Joe’ Hall
