Hey guess what…..I am Human. That’s right!!!

At this moment in my life I can say I am the fattest I have ever been.

I know what you’re thinking…you fat **** – haha! I am talking in relative terms I am the FATTEST I have ever been,  i.e I am not “fat” by the usual definition, but to me I am carrying wayyy to much body fat for my likening.

I know what you’re saying “But Matt you’re a personal trainer – you have to be good all the time and live like a monk”

Erm, well simply – I am no monk.

I bet I live better than 97% of the UK but there is always room for improvement.

So I have fallen off the wagon as they say. I am the fattest I have ever been and let me explain how this happened.

You see I train 4/5 times a week – I take my supplements etc.

But you can not out train a bad lifestyle – it’s IMPOSSIBLE

Training is only 30% of it remember that!

But lifestyle changes started coming about that I have now kicked in the ass.

– Mon – Wed consisted of hard work eating clean and training. These were my 3 busy days so I spent around 14 hours a day at work.

– Thursday meal out with my significant other –Slap up meal wine etc This was something we implemented as we did not see each other in the week a lot so we started to go out on Thursdays, But again this turned into “I’ll just have a beer” and “Mmm, that cake sounds nice”

– Friday – Pub with the lads was normally 4-5 glasses of rose or 8 pints and some food on the way home (social, but not good) – again this is something I didn’t do until the new year really. It used to be a quite drink and general catch up then it started turning into a crazy lads night out every Friday. Which resulted in lots of beer/food and a bad hangover the next day (Not good)

– Saturday – either a night out on the “binge” or a meal out with Emma – either or they are not good for abs!

– Sunday – Full English – Big ass carvery at the Three Horse Shoes – Emma and I enjoyed a big breakfast as it’s a “Sunday” Just an excuse really.

That was my life from about JAN to the -Beginning of April.

And guess what happened…I got fat! Well fat for me! No more abs, Bit of a wobble around the love handles….I don’t like it! I actually put on around 50% of my overall original body fat! Now again in relative terms that’s a lot. Imagine if you put 50% of your fat on again now…how would you feel?

In my head I was thinking ….Well I will get my abs back before the summer…I don’t have anything to train for etc.

So guess what I have done?

Well, for starters I am going to nail my next Ninja level – The Yellow Viper

And I have booked something for 9 weeks time to give me something to train for (I will tell you about this in a later email)

So now I am going to do what Jon and I created…use our L.E.A.N system.

 Fallen off the wagon 1 - myrise.co.uk 3

I am taking what we call the BIG WINS –  taking the things that will affect my body fat levels the most and remove them i.e all of the above.

I am not going to change my training a huge amount as I train hard but training is only 30% of it. And this I will prove over the next 9 weeks

But what I am going to do is change my…

  • Lifestyle – No more crazy binges and big meals out
  • Exercise – Work that little bit harder
  • Adherence – I am going to be CONSISTANT and not just do it mon-thur
  • Nutrition – No sugar, no processed foods, lots of water….simple J

So guys when you have a bad month just remember it was your choice like all these have been mine.

But it happens to the best of us and I would like you all to follow my story over the next 9 weeks where all will be revealed what I have planned
