There was an interesting conversation in our member’s group this morning.

Several members who’d been told things like:

“Don’t you think you’re taking this healthy eating thing a bit far?”

“You’re getting a bit obssessed with that gym, aren’t you?” (I let the ‘gym’ bit go).

“It’s like you’ve joined a cult, you’re so obsessed”

And so on.

It’s something we’ve covered before.

It’s interesting how people decide which regular behaviours are deemed obsessive.

And which aren’t.

Imagine if you said to someone “You’ve whatched Corrie three times a week for thirty years? That’s an addiction”

Or “You eat cake EVERY week????? It’s like you’ve joined some sort of Cake Cult”

Or “Listen – I think you’ve taken this weight gain thing a bit too far?”

As always, we don’t preach.

People can watch TV and eat cake all they like.

It’s their lives.

But just helping people question a mindset.

Or confirm that if they have joined an exercise cult or become obsessed with health …….

Then that’s not necessarily a bad thing!

Much love,

Jon ‘Addict’ Hall and Matt ‘Subtractict’ Nicholson
