I was recently working out at a local big box gym that I occasionally go to for a change.
And I saw a poster on the wall.
About a new mental health social media platform.
With a QR code to send people there.
It was the sub heading that jumped out to me though.
“Changing the world one question at a time”.
Which I loved.
Because of massive part of what we do at RISE is asking better questions.
Because often people come to us searching for answers to the same questions that they’ve been asking for a while.
“What’s the best exercise for INSERT BODY PART?”
“What’s the best way to lose weight?”
And they’re perfectly valid questions.
But they’re the same questions they’ve probably asked repeatedly before.
And had some perfectly good answers to.
The answers we might give to those questions are probably ones that they’ve heard before.
Because we’ve been able to get great workouts and meal plans for free on the internet for over two decades now.
What I’d like to think I do really well for people is…….
Help them ask better questions.
Because with better questions come better answers.
The answers are most likely to lead us to the behaviours and results that we desire.
Because if the answer to the question is right but it doesn’t help us, it probably wasn’t the best question for us.
The kind of questions we could be asking are;
– “What are the easiest, not best, adjustments that I could make to my eating?”
– “What changes can I make that require zero additional time, effort or money?”
– “How can I make it as easy possible to get my workouts in?”
– “What form of exercise can I find that I enjoy, or at least find tolerable?”
– “How am I actually assigning that finite resource of time (and really giving that an in-depth answer rather than just “I’m too busy”)?”
– “If I absolutely, on pain of death, had to make these changes then what would be the way I would go about it to make it as easy as possible?”
Now these questions are still a little bit generic.
The same for everyone reading them.
I’ll ask better questions if we have an in-person conversation.
But, I hope you will agree, they’re better questions then the ones you might have been asking before?
Answer them and see where that takes you 🙂
Much love,
Jon ‘Google gave me “changing the world’s highest light bulb”‘ Hall
P.S. Wanting to make 2024 the year that you drop that you finally drop that weight, improve your energy and mood AND keep it going?
Here are three reasons to take action now and reserve your space at RISE for the New Year;
– Get a place – we’ve sold January out in December for 10 years straight and this year will be no different. Leave it till then and you’ll have to wait or end up somewhere less good and getting worse results.
– 2023 prices locked in before the annual price increase
– Rest of the year for free. Even if you don’t do any workouts, you’ll have coaching, support and accountability over Christmas to mean you don’t have even more to undo come January
It’s www.myrise.co.uk/apply to arrange a no pressure, no salesy stuff opportunity to look at the programme and see if we’re a good fit for each other (and for you not to miss out)
