So, yesterday I talked about cheating on your wife.

————- Not a good idea —————-

Today, I’ll talk about cheat meals.

As in a meal in the week where you can go ‘off diet’ and have “whatever you want”.

Personally, I’m not a big fan of the concept.

It doesn’t scream ‘long term maintainability’ to me.

If you’re eating in a way that you feel you can’t do all the time, and that you have to ‘cheat’ on, then, from my experience, you probably won’t do it regularly and indefinitely.

Just like if you feel the need to cheat on a spouse, there’s probably something not quite right there…………..

If you feel the need to cheat on your diet, same thing.

It’s clearly not something you’re generally happy with.

Now, that doesn’t mean you can’t ever do what you might do on what some would term a ‘cheat meal’.

You can have a big meal, a dessert and a load of drinks if you want.

If the average of your week takes you in the direction you want, why not?

But it’s not ‘cheating’.

It’s just a meal.

We don’t need to see it all as a diet we have to cheat on occasionally to stick to.

It’s, overall, treating our bodies with love, care and respect (check myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting if you like the sound of that).

It’s eating in a way that’s good for us and helps make us healthier and happier most of the time.

Creating that flexibility that means that we can still average out those times where we, perhaps, abuse ourselves somewhat.

Remember, if you feel the need to cheat on something / one……………

It’s probably not the one ‘for you’.

Much love,

Jon ‘Cheetah’ Hall and Matt ‘Leopard’ Nicholson
