As our way of spreading the good word, all our blogs our sent out on email, popped on our website and linked off Facebook, Pinterest and the like
One of our ninjas Rik commented on the Facebook link of last week’s ‘Hump Day’ blog with:
We live in a world of ‘destination happiness’ constantly saying I’ll be happy once I get to the weekend, holiday, night out etc. we spend so much time at work it’s worth the effort to try and make it more enjoyable .It’s not easy but if you don’t take the first step you’ll never get there.
Which we thought was great.
Destination happiness is defiantly something that has gained a lot of traction in our collective thinking over the last few years.
The constantly looking forward to something in the future.
The following is a great quote I heard a few years ago that really changed the way I think about things:
“All we have is the moment we are in”.
The past and the future don’t exist.
They are just thoughts in our heads.
We’re not saying that we shouldn’t plan for the future.
Or arrange fun stuff.
Or that we can really get as much enjoyment from the everyday minutiae as the stuff we might do at the weekend and on holiday.
But, regularly reminding yourself that all you really have is the moment you’re in, and that you will never get it back, is a great way to start making that moment more enjoyable and to make your life something you enjoy more.
Much love,
