On a near daily basis I see posts and memes on social media that I’m sure mean well.

They’re designed to help us question our justifications for not making the changes in our lives that we’d quite like to really.

But they’re often a bit “guilt tripy”.

And, usually, forget some of the major points around that situation.

They’ll say things like “An hour of exercise is only 4% of your day”.

Forgetting that the vast majority of that day is already taken up with other, inflexible things.

We’re going to spend a fair proportion of that time working, sleeping, running the kids around and various other activities.

That one hour is possibly 33% of our flexible time.

Maybe more?

Or the post will comment about how will be happy to spend however many pounds a week or month on socialising, going out, drinking without friends, take out, etc………

But not willing to invest that same amount in our own health and fitness.

Forgetting that, and let’s be honest here, going out drinking with our friends is much more fun than exercising.

And that drinking gin and eating cheesecake is more enjoyable than not (other food and drink is a available).

I’ve probably trained five times a week for the last two decades, but I don’t think I enjoyed a single one of those workouts as much as meeting up with my mates.

To my mind, a lot of these posts just make the reader think “You don’t get me”.

Or “It’s different for you”.

I get you.

I get it.

We’re busy.

We don’t have much flexible time.

We like going out drinking with our friends.

We like eating tasty food.

But what I will do…….

Is to try and help you find a way to make forward progress on your health and fitness……..

To get towards a body you like the look and feel……..

Energy levels and mood that allow you to live the life that you want to live (apply for a place on our 4 week trial at www.myrise.co.uk/apply if you’d like to get these things)……..

Whilst still doing the things that you want to do with the rest of your life.

That’s the key.

That’s what we do at RISE.

Much love,

Jon ‘Never annoying’ Hall
