Those of you who are my age (34 yesterday) or older may vaguely remember a slightly odd, but quite catchy song from 1979 (but still on the radio well into the 80s).

It was called Escape by Rupert Holmes.

Have a listen here if you like – www.youtube.com/watch?v=QVdhZwK7cS8.

It’s about a married man who responds to a personal ad in the paper from an exciting sounding lady.

Who turns out to be his wife.

They were both looking for an ‘escape’.

Something exciting in a life they were otherwise a bit bored by.

I was reminded of this song by a couple of members recently who were saying how coming to RISE is often the best bit of their day.

And one described it as her “escape” from the rest of her life.

45 minutes just for her.

Where she could leave behind the stresses and strains of the rest of the day.

And do something that makes her feel better.

#################################################

We all need that bit of an escape.

Much as I love my girlfriend, our kids and RISE, it is nice to find a bit of time for something that’s just for me.

My workouts, a match and reading a good book in the bath are a few things I particularity enjoy.

If you don’t already have an ‘escape’ then you might benefit from finding one.

Hopefully this blog won’t encourage people to be starting affairs ….

But It’d be great to hear how you guys escape already or what escapes you’ve started doing as a result of this message.

If you (or a friend) want to try out escaping with RISE, then you’re running out of time to apply for a place on the next risk free trial – here’s that link again – myrise.co.uk/apply.

Much love,

P.S. I’ve got a few days in London from tomorrow with the family as it’s half term. But don’t worry – I’ve already written Thursday and Friday’s articles 🙂

Tomorrow’s is on the best way to fall (as with most of these emails, probably not what you’re thinking) and Fridays is on the best way for women to exercise.
