We’ve made quite a few funky changes at RISE recently.

And we’ve got some more coming 🙂

As always, change divides people.

Some like it straight away.

For others it takes time.

We were chatting to a couple of members the other day who’d sent us some feedback on a recent change.

And they were saddened that we hadn’t ‘acted’ on it.

Now we love feedback.

Let’s us know how people feel about what we’re doing.

And gives us ideas.

But it can’t always be acted on.

Firstly there’s the simple maths – we can’t offer more and charge less when the budget is tight anyway.

And secondly, acting on every suggestion means you end up with a bit of everything.

But nothing particularly good of anything.

It becomes a bit vague and generic.

It doesn’t inspire in the way we want it to.

There’s the old expression – “A camel is a horse designed by committee”.

We want the academy to be a pure thoroughbred race horse.

Ideas from everywhere – but driven by the central vision of two people.

Something powerful and pure that some will love and some won’t.

Rather than some ugly miss-match of ideas that no one cares about.

So – please keep sending us feedback and ideas.

We always want to listen to them.

But we hope you understand why we can’t always act on them.

Much love,

Jon ‘Pure and Simple’ Hall and Matt ‘Just A Little’ Nicholson
