For the last few weeks my wife has gone into most work days with the same intent.
To “eat some of those frogs”.
You know, those big tasks that are hard, not necessarily urgent but important.
Easy to put off, but create progressively more work or problems by doing so.
The ones that are easy to get deferred when less important but more urgent things come in.
I’m sure we all encounter similar things at work.
And, from my experience, we probably all, at times, consider changes to our health and fitness in the same way.
Think that they are great big things that are going to take lots of time and effort and end up not doing them.
Creating progressively bigger problems downstream.
However, in reality, nibbling at these frogs still gets us there.
Not having time for five 1 hour workouts this week doesn’t mean there isn’t massive value to one or two 45 minute ones.
Having other things to do that won’t allow us to cook 21 meals from scratch doesn’t mean we couldn’t just have smaller portion sizes and / or make a few tactical swaps that require no additional time.
It’s easy to put off making positive changes to our lives and bodies when they feel too much.
But we can always just make some better choices that we do have time for.
And make better forward progress because of that.
These aren’t the big frogs we make them out to be, but little tadpoles we can nibble on.
Much love,
Jon ‘Frogmonial’ Hall
P.S. Only a handful of people alive who’ll get that middle name and I’m not sure they read these blogs.
P.P.S. If you’ve been putting off doing our four week trial because it feels like a big thing you’re too busy for, then that’s not the case. Take that next step here —> www.myrise.co.uk/apply
