Someone asked me the other day if they should not eat after 6pm.
As always, if one person has a question, others will too.
So here’s the answer.
It’s up to you.
If it helps you create an overall weekly average that takes you in the right direction, it is a tool you could employ.
There’s nothing magical about eating before or after a certain time.
When calorie matched, all food distributions work exactly the same from a weight loss perspective.
2, 3, 4 or 6 meals.
Intermittent fasting.
5:2.
All of them the same when matched for total amount.
What not eating after a certain time can do is stop us “going mental”.
Have you ever had a normal days meals then demolished a tub of Ben and Jerry’s, a family sized dairy milk and bottle of wine over the course of the evening?
Or some variation on that?
Have you ever done that between breakfast and lunch?
I’d assume not.
Best part of 2,000 plus calories either way.
Just way less likely before 6pm.
If not eating after 6pm five days per week (or any other time and / or days that fits) works nicely as a nice clear cut ‘rule’ for you and helps you create a weekly deficit…………
Then go for it.
Much love,
Jon ‘Post Mortem’ Hall and Matt ‘Prime Minister’ Nicholson
P.S. You know the crack, it’s myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting to find out more. Especially if you don’t just want to be told what to do (that hasn’t worked) before. Rather be helped to find a maintainable way that works for you.
