I was chatting to a mate on WhatsApp the other day about the benefits of **eating less for weight loss**.
I was sending him some amusing, to me at least, AI images.
I was particularly pleased with one of a destitute looking Sonic The Hedgehog and the Microsoft Word Paper Clip (whose annoying demeanours we had just been talking about).
“u must be a power user of this sh*t now” he replied (spelling and punctuation aren’t his strong point).
So I sent him an AI image of me as a Champion AI user that it generated.
Despite only uploading a picture of my face it did, rather kindly, give me large, muscular arms.
“I’m not happy with how it shrunk my arms” I joked.
“yeh, not enough definition,,. sure sure”
“I’ve lost a stone in the last month. I’ll be ripped again soon enough”
“that’s good going. u just stepped up food n exercise?”
“Eating less. Pro tip that. I normally charge for that advice”
“the amount of people who asked me is hilarious. Yeh I’m eating less and better. And moving more. Pretty straightforward”
“I’ve made a career off giving surprisingly straightforward advice”
As it mentions there, I’ve lost a stone recently.
I mentioned late last year that I’d gained some weight and was planning on losing it.
I didn’t quite happen.
And it got to the point a month or so ago where I’d just had enough.
So I massively cut down my consumption in the week.
That’s it.
That was the extent of my plan.
And it’s worked.
As a similarly simple approach has worked for my friend.
“Not being that easy” isn’t the same as “not being that straightforward”.
You don’t need progressively more complicated and difficult to follow approaches.
The answer when we struggle to do something isn’t to make it more difficult and complicated.
It’s to make it more simple and straightforward.
“Eating less and better” isn’t the extent of my advice and direction, of course.
And there are different tactics and methods we can incorporate to most easily make that happen (I’ll help with them and with fun coach-led exercise with like minded people in an intimidation free atmosphere —> www.myrise.co.uk/apply)
But that doesn’t mean it can’t boil down to something no more complicated than that.
