My wife and I were born exactly a month apart. So, some years, we do a joint celebration about half way between our birthdays.

We did that this last Saturday.

A party for our more local friends.

A few member’s in this morning’s Session were asking about it.

And, as has happened countless times over the years, some were surprised to find out the party involved eating and drinking quite a bit.

Because, when you work in the Fitness Industry, that’s not expected.

The assumption is you live like a monk and have no fun.

It might be the case for some in the Industry (and they general seem happy like that, not forcing themselves to do something they hate).

But it isn’t for most.

Many FitPros feel the need to hide that aspect of their lives.

To project a more perfect version of themselves publicly.

I don’t think that helps most people.

They can’t indentify.

They don’t think they’ll be understood.

They think what they’ll be required to do for the result they desire is impossible for them.

They’ll have to live a life that they’re not happy living.

No socialising, no fun, just burpees and broccoli.

But that’s not the case.

Maybe the more restrictive approaches are needed for the very best results.

If we want to be a bodybuilder or a professional athlete, then we need a pretty full on approach.

If we just want to be in pretty good shape………..

Have a body that we largely like the look and feel of………….

That can do the stuff we want it to do…………..

Reasonable to good energy levels most of the time………..

Less aches and pains and bloatedness………….

Then we can create an average that still allows some over consumption.

I ate a bit less over the rest of the weekend (rather than using it as a justification to overconsume even more).

I’ll be in marginaly deficit the next few days.

And all will be good.

It really doesn’t need to be any more complicated than that.

Much love,

Jon ‘Lesley Gore’ Hall

P.S. For a maintainable approach that actually gets better results than the super restrictive version (that doesn’t happen long term), jump in risk-free on our 4 Week Kickstart at www.myrise.co.uk/apply. Do it and regret it and you don’t pay.
