Those of you are Facebook friends with me may have seen that I ventured back on the trampoline on Sunday.
6 weeks after my ankle injury, which is probably about 90% now.
I didn’t do too much myself, but was teaching one Sam, of my nephews, to somersault.
He finally got it and the look on his face showed how pleased he was 🙂
I’ve actually taught several children how to somersault now – mine, friends’ kids, members’ kids, etc.
My DIY teaching method involves holding under their armpit and behind their shoulder and guiding them over.
## I’m aware of the jumper / belt round the waist technique – keep meaning to give it a go ##
Anyway, after a few unsuccessful attempts Sam said it was “starting to hurt a bit”.
To which I replied “Pretty much everything in life worth doing hurts a bit Sam”.
“Brilliant advice Uncle Johnny” Alex (my wife) called out from the kitchen.
“That’s a great lesson to teach him.”
I think I’m right though.
I don’t just mean psychical pain.
Although that can be part of it.
It’s just an extension of “Nothing in this world worth having comes easy”
Roosevelt said “Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort, pain, difficulty…”
We’re all for making things as easy as possible………
For working on the ‘big wins’……..
Maximum ROI for your effort……..
Working on habits, mindsets, etc………
Rather than JUST “trying harder”.
But………..
If it’s worth doing (and it is)……..
It will involve some ‘pain’.
Some sacrifice here and there.
It’s when we get that sweet spot.
That combination of making it as easy as is realistically possible……..
And accepting that “everything in life worth doing hurts a bit”……..
That’s where the magic happens (last chance tonight to find out more about what we do and that ‘magic’ that’s created hundreds of verifiable success stories –> myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting) 🙂
Much love,
Jon ‘I would like to point that when Sam broke his arm whilst staying with us earlier this year, I was nowhere near him’ Hall and Matt ‘Hurt Locker’ Nicholson
P.S. The wife also added “What’s worth doing that hurts”. To which I replied “Marriage”. “Right back atcha’ she said.
