Fat Matt is going – Macclesfield Personal Trainers Weight Loss Story

At the end of week 5 now since Fat Matt has been kicked in the ass, and I feel fantastic!

One thing hit home the other day that I didn’t really notice until Emma pointed it out (Emma is my girlfriend).

She said “Matt you’re getting straight up in the morning and you don’t look tired”

We used to set out alarms and lay in bed for like 30 minutes because we were too tired to get up.

I always thought “Just 5 more minutes”

Well over the past 5 weeks I never really noticed until she said but I gradually stopped doing this and most of the time I got up and trained before breakfast.

But looking back when I started this 5 weeks ago I hated it! I found it so hard to get up and now I don’t even notice! I never even noticed that I was not tired anymore I just got up and was fine.

Remember this is with 0g of sugar in my diet and 0g of caffeine!

So what is happening?

Well my body is now working how it is DESIGNED to work, running off its fats stores when needed. Not stimulants or sugar.

So when I need energy my body starts to burn my fat and not relay on sugar or a “Kick” to get me going.

Strange how I can go and knock out 20 mins of HIIT hill sprints before breakfast now?

Or a 15 hours day with 1:1 PT clients and Group PT sessions in our RISE along with training myself….again with NO sugar, NO snacks and NO caffeine!

I now have about 5 weeks till my “experiment” is over and I have something very interesting to show you at the end (I will get back to this in a later email)

Looking back it’s actually got easier and easier.

Now that I have “Broke the habit cycle” I can do other things that do not lead into these bad downfalls.

Think about your worst downfall, it might be someone brings cakes in to work everyday or you HAVE to have a takeaway on Friday like I used to “HAVE” to after the pub.

If you break this cycle before it starts your on to a winner.

So rather than turning up to the pub on a Friday and “trying to be good” I just replace it with something as fun i.e going to the cinema, cooking a nice meal and watching a DVD etc.

So if you struggle with say Chocolate, try and replace it with something nice not just remove it.

I love eggs and have them in many ways, shape and forms now. They give me everything I need to keep my body healthy and before you start – no, they are not going to give you high cholesterol – this has been disproved by science.

Anyway back to my journey, I am going into week 6 now and I am not getting comments of people say how “Well” I look. Not that I have lost weight but just “Look well” This is a nice comment to have.

I also feel so much better – I mean I was living better than most and now I feel 100% better than I did. So for people who live really bad if they did what I am doing they would feel sooo much better.

So one thing to take from this is to break that habit cycle and find an equally as good to do instead.
