In yesterday’s blog, I discussed the frustrations faced by many fitness professionals in Macclesfield when clients don’t follow through on their commitments.

Whether that involves keeping up with their exercise routines, making healthy eating choices, attending scheduled calls, maintaining food diaries, or engaging with the materials they’ve been provided, it’s a recurring challenge for many in the industry.

I’ve often highlighted how ‘unmet expectations’ can lead to unpleasant emotions like frustration.

Years ago, I encountered the idea that “the things that frustrate you the most about others are what you haven’t accepted in yourself.”

I was skeptical at first.

I believed the opposite to be true.

The behaviors that irritated me were often the ones I excelled at while others fell short.

Timeliness, following through on commitments, and similar qualities seemed to showcase the differences.

But have I ever been late?

Absolutely.

Have I ever failed to deliver on a promise?

Without a doubt, I’ve let things slip over the years.

Have I ever neglected to reply to a message when I probably should have?

Yes.

Have I found myself meaning to do something and then realizing I simply never got around to it?

100%.

So, why should my experiences be considered any different or superior to someone else’s?

Recognizing that we’re not as flawless as we might want to believe can indeed transform our perspective.

We begin to understand others’ behaviors in a new light.

Even if we excel in certain areas, there are still aspects of our lives where we might falter, and someone could just as easily call us out on it.

Why do we get to dictate which behaviors are acceptable grounds for annoyance?

It’s powerful to realize that everyone is doing their best with the resources they have at any given moment.

They’re acting based on their experiences and beliefs.

Through various methods of coaching, study, and support, I help others tackle aspects they find challenging regarding their body, health, fitness, and energy (cough *** www.myrise.co.uk/apply *** cough).
