One of the first questions that people ask us when they first come and work with us is what foods they should cut out.

My response is always the same.

“I don’t want you to cut out any foods”.

Que??????

‘Cutting out’ foods suggests restruction.

It suggests limiting / denying yourself.

It suggests will power and having to ‘try’ at something.

As we all now, will power is a finite resource.

It’ll get you so far.

But it always runs out.

I always explain that we want to guide people on a journey of change.

To a point where they’re just not interested in eating and living a certain way.

Or at least less bothered about it so that the balance is better.

It may not be as ‘instant’ as saying “don’t eat XYZ for a month”.

But it works miles better long term.

You know – when people live that way for the rest of their lives.

Rather than yo-yo-ing back and forth.

It can be difficult journey.

One that requires deep questions.

Soul searching even.

And there’s no ‘set path’.

It’s YOUR journey.

It’s how you can move from where you are now – the way you think, your habits and the way you live your life.

To where you want to be – your new habits and lifestyle.

It’s a journey full of pot holes and stumbling blocks.

It can be hard bloody work.

There’s a reason most don’t take it.

A reason why our society is built around ‘quick fixes’ that don’t last.

But we know that you’re up to the challenge.

Otherwise you wouldn’t be reading these emails.

However far down the path you are, you’re at least on the path.

So – keep going.

Keep questioning yourself.

Keep asking us for help.

We’ll get there together.

Much love,
