I presume everybody’s heard of Blackadder.
In Series 2 and 4 Rik Mayall played a recurring character of Flashheart.
A handsome, womanising, generally hilarious character.
Who’d appear occasionally, regale people with hos outlandish tales, kiss a few women, headbutts Percy / Darling and disappears.
In ‘Blackadder goes Forth’, Flashheart is instructing the WWI soldiers in flying.
The entire lesson consists of his advice to “Treat your kite like you treat your woman. Get inside her five time a day and take her to heaven and back. Woof!”
I was reminded of that the other day when reading about maximising engagement in Facebook groups.
It pretty much just said “Show up in the group three times a day and engage with people”.
Which is what we do with our group.
Which is one of the reasons it works so well, engages members so much and helps them on their journey (check myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting if you like the sound of getting something outside of ‘just workouts’).
One if the best bits of advice I every received about success was “Just keep showing up”.
Just keep doing the things you know you need to do.
Sometimes they’ll go better than others.
But keeping it up will always go better than not showing up.
We’ve written over 800 blogs, recorded a several hundred videos, had thousands of face to face conversations and so on.
Some have gone better than others.
But only by continually showing up will we get anywhere.
And it’s the same with you guys and what you need to do to get where you want to get to.
The healthy eating, exercise, hydration, stress management, etc.
Sometimes it’ll go better than others.
You’ll make mistakes.
And, hopefully, learn from them.
But, if you keep on showing up…….
Day after day…….
Week after week…….
Month after month…….
Year after year………
You will always get better results than those that stop and start all the time.
Just show up!
Much love,
