I was listening to the wireless (as my Granny used to call it) the other day.

I’ve taken to referring to things in ways that I never actually used to to wind my kids up.

“What’s top of the Hit Parade nowadays?” 😉

Anyway, that song by Labi Siffre came one.

You know which one, don’t you?

Doesn’t work when the DJ gives that ‘hook’ before the news about songs coming up when they’re one hit wonders does it?

“Coming up after the break, a big song by Whigfield / Rachel Platten / Most of the X Factor winners”

You know it’s going to be Saturday Night / Fight Song / Against All Odds / The Climb / Skyscraper.

Anyhoo, enough of that aside.

The Labi Siffre song was, of course, (Something inside) So Strong.

Avoid Losing Motivation

I’m not going to talk about the overall message of the song.

Too obvious.

Worth having a listen to though if you’re not aware of it –> www.youtube.com/watch?v=zOqUwAclOcY

There’s one particular line that stood out to me.

“We’re gonna do it anyway”.

What would happen if you just did it anyway?

Avoid Losing Motivation

Don’t feel like exercising?

Do it anyway.

Can’t be arsed to spend a bit longer on making a more balanced, nutritious meal?

Do it anyway.

Everyone around you seems to be trying to ‘flabotage’ you and you really don’t feel like doing what you know needs to be done to get the results you want?

Do it anyway.

Don’t feel like coming to our find out more meeting?

Do it anyway 😉

Motivation and all that is great when it’s there.

But everyone suffers from drops in it.

It’s when we just ‘do it anyway’ that the motivation returns and the results come 🙂

Much love,

Jon ‘Jedward’ Hall and Matt ‘Terry’ Nicholson

P.S. Yesterday’s middle names – Jim Trott was the guy in ‘Vicar of Dibley’ who used to go “No, no, no, no, no. Yes”
