How’s things?

You have a nice weekend?

We had the latest RISE Social this Saturday.

Tennis in the afternoon and out ‘on the toon’ in the evening. It was great to see how different everyone was looking to when we first me them. Check us out here:

RISE October Social

I always enjoy hanging out with our members.

Partly because it’s cool to hear the amazing feedback we get from them (it’s particularly interesting to hear the more, ahem, ‘personal’ side that people sometimes share after a few drinks).

But I enjoy it because I like and get on with our members.

They’re “our kind of people”.

We’ve made a concerted effort to attract and appeal to a certain type of person.

To create a particularity community.

We don’t want your ‘lycra clad gym-bunnies’ or the loud, grunting guys from the ‘free weights area’.

And we don’t want people who just want somewhere to go and do a workout.

We want people who are wanting to transform their lives and have fun doing it.

I’ve got a couple of great stories to share with you later in the week from Saturday night – keep an eye out for “Adam’s Chicken Wednesdays” 🙂

#######################################################

We’ve recently asked a few members to stop coming because they weren’t a good fit for us.

One was making other members uncomfortable.

Another clearly just wanted somewhere to do a workout.

They didn’t want to change anything about their eating and lifestyle.

We love helping people who want to change and struggle with it.

But we’re not interested in people with no desire to change.

They won’t get any results – and we’ve built our reputation on huge, life changing results.

###################################################

We also don’t really want to work with people that take themselves ‘too seriously’.

We get some people reply to our emails saying they don’t like the ‘informal tone’ (or worse) or pointing our spelling mistakes.

Especially in Matt’s emails 😉

Now, Matt is a terrible speller – I rib him for it on a regular basis.

But, if someone can’t see our central message because of the odd typo, then they’re probably not going to like us if / when they meet us in person.

Matt particularly 😉

These emails kinda act like a filtering system – don’t like them and you probably won’t like what we do.

I had a great reply from someone from someone a few months ago, saying that he didn’t find our email series “at all funny” and we had lost him as a potential customer, which was a shame for us as he was “exactly” our target market.

I replied, letting him know that, if he didn’t like our sense of humour and what we had to say, then he most certainly wasn’t our target market.

####################################################

People are often shocked when they can’t just come in off the street and join,

That we’re application only.

That we sometimes don’t let people who apply work with us.

I’ve had people say “But, I’m the one that’s paying you”.

We’re not like most trainers – happy to work with anyone with a wallet and a pulse.

We’re not a democracy – we’re a community 🙂

We want people who we can help on their journey to ‘awesomeness’

Speaking of which, look out for tomorrow’s email about Tim from Buxton and his journey.

And how a small piece of rubber is helping him transform his life.

BTW – we’re still taking applications for the free briefing meetings for the November ’28 Day Body Transformations’, but places are running out.

You (or a friend if you’re already with us) can apply here.

Much love,

Jon ‘Community Service’ Hall
