Unless you’ve been living under a rock (does anyone actually do this?) then you’ll have heard about the “cost of living crisis”.

The disproportionately quick increase in utility bills and other general living costs.

I did mention it in a recent blog so, frankly, that should’ve been enough 😉

I’ve had a few people ask me recently “Has the cost of living crisis impacted you?”

By which they mean the business, membership numbers, retention, etc.

And it has.

But not how you might expect.

Sure, some people have decided to leave because their bills have gone up.

But some people leave each month anyway.

——– Beware the FitPro / facility owner that tells you that “no one ever leaves here” – they’re either clueless about their business and / or lying to you ———-

The number of leavers we’ve had over the recent months has been fairly consistent to other years.

And I don’t doubt those people who have cited it as a reason did feel the need to cut back outgoings.

But, as with a fairly high proportion of leavers we’ve ever had who cite “money”, most hadn’t been coming all that much and getting results.

I’ve always found when the results justify the investment, there are adjustments elsewhere most are happy to make.

But, I digress.

I have noticed something else though.

A few more people coming in who’d previously been spending the same or more on something else.

They were either at a fancy gym with a pool they didn’t use and paying about what our Group Personal Training Programme costs.

Or they were paying more for 1:1 Personal Training.

And they’ve become a bit more “cost conscious”.

Not necessarily averse to spending a certain amount of money……….

But no longer willing to not get the results they feel justify it.

And wanting to spend that money on something with a proven track record of getting people amazing results.

Wanting support, accountability and a place they enjoy going to.

We get that costs are tight for many.

We get that there are some who just cannot afford what we do.

But we also get that there are many who can, who might sometimes tell themselves that they “can’t”.

I know that if I could develop a magic pill that gave people the body they like the look and feel of and energy levels and mood that were where they wanted them to be………..

With zero side effects…………..

I’d have people queueing up round the block to pay £3 a day (or considerably more) for that.

They’d make adjustments elsewhere in those cases.

Getting the results is, ultimately, key.

What we do only ever feels “expensive” or a “cost to cut” if we’re not.

And not getting the results is not what anyone wants.

So, if you’re a member and not quite getting the results you want, let’s work together to make that happen.

Getting even worse results by stopping is not a saving worth making.

And, if you’re not a member, and you’re tired of wasting money on gym memberships and the like, and you’re ready to actually make some changes, then here’s where you’ll find them –> www.myrise.co.uk/apply
