I read a story the other day.
About a tiger that had been released into the wild many years ago.
He’d been born and raised in a circus.
Kept in the same 12 foot by 12 foot cage for most of his life.
Except when he was ‘performing’.
When he was released he apparently spent most of the rest of his days……….
In a self-created 12 by 12 patch of land.
He could have gone anywhere.
But he had developed a self limiting belief that he was unable to break.
################
Stupid tiger you might say.
But we all do it.
Develop constraints in our own lives.
Without realising it.
Creating an invisible ‘set of rules’ that govern our behaviour.
That hold us back from what we really want.
And invisible 12 foot square cage.
Think that healthy eating is boring, restrictive and time consuming?
Think that exercise takes time rather than is an investment in the time you have?
Or can’t be fun (myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting if you like the sound of exercise you enjoy).
Think you ‘need’ certain foods and drinks in any way?
Think that the things you chose to put in your mouth are anyone else’s choice / fault than you own?
None of these things are ‘true’.
Imagine if the opposite was true.
What impact would that have on your life.
Why can’t the opposite be true?
It’s just what you chose to think.
Don’t be that tiger!
Much love,
