The other day I went round to my mum’s to help her with some house stuff that all involved reaching higher or lifting heavier than she can.
I went after dropping my two older sons at school and, therefore, took a route I rarely do.
I drove past a village near my home town.
And thought of the only person I knew at school who came from that village.
We’ll call him Ben.
Because that’s his name.
When we were all learning to drive in 1996/7, Ben bought a Land Rover.
For, as you’ll have seen in the blog title, £17.50.
Insanely cheap.
It wasn’t that long ago.
The day he passed his test, Ben took a load of his mates for a drive “down the bypass”.
Half way down, the drive shaft broke, took out the bottom of the Land Rover floor and nearly took their legs off.
You get what you pay for.
Like in most areas of life.
Despite being technically “the same thing”, there is a difference between a decrepit old Land Rover and a nice, new car.
Although both have walls and you sleep in them, there’s a difference between a tent and a house.
And, whilst they are both, in part, places you go to exercise, there’s a difference between a gym and RISE.
One is where there is some equipment that you’ve rented access to.
The other is a Group Personal Training and Lifestyle, Nutrition and Adherence coaching programme with it’s own private, members only facility.
There’s a reason for the difference in price.
As there’s a reason for the difference in price between our programme and the same level of support on a 1:1 basis.
You get what you pay for.
And there’s no right or wrong.
Different prices for different levels for different people.
We all value different things to different degrees.
If we’re getting what we want out of something it’s probably a great investment.
If we’re not…….
It’s not.
No matter how cheap it is.
