I was doing the school / train run a few weeks ago.

Dropping the wife at the train station and step-daughter at school as I do every Tuesday.

### Oldest two sons aren’t with us on Tuesdays and youngest was coming to RISE with me for those that were on tenterhooks over the whereabouts of the rest of my family ###

We were coming down Hibel Road towards the Tesco roundabout in Macclesfield.

Alex starts making concerned noises.

A usual occurrence whenever I get within about a mile of other road users, the pavement, etc.

Naturally, I just ignored her.

Turns out though she was right to, as the lorry directly in front of us was pulling too far across as he entered the roundabout.

He caught the car to his left, knocking off the wing mirror and damaging most of the side panelling.

Monitor your weight loss progress

The lorry driver clearly hadn’t been looking in his own mirror.

Which is something we’re all guilty of from time to time.

Monitor Your Weight Loss Progress

Forgetting to appreciate how far we’ve come.

And becoming discouraged by how far we feel we still have to go rather than monitor your weight loss progress.

When we concentrate on our perceived ‘gap’ between where we are now and where we might, in an ideal world, like to be……….

It’s hard to stay motivated.

We look at the weight still to be lost to take us from where we are now to those (filtered) Instagram models.

Or how much fitter, slimmer, stronger and / or fitter someone we know is.

And forget what we’ve done already.

Measure backwards.

Look at the progress made so far.

Be proud of that.

Continue to build on it.

Aim forwards, sure (myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting if you want to get that going a bit more).

But don’t forget to look in the mirror too 🙂

Much love,

Jon ‘Who is the fairest of them all’ Hall and Matt ‘Sunday’ Nicholson
