Whenever I add something to my diary that my wife needs to know about, I send her a calendar invite.
And she does the same to me.
Between us, we have so much stuff going on that we’d completely lose the plot without this.
Sometimes we’ll just send each other something that says “Hold for…….” just so nothing else gets booked in in the meantime.
It might be seeing friends, doing something as a family, some of the kids’ activities or all manner of other things.
It’s something that’s not quite set in stone at that point and the details and timings might change, but we want to stop something else getting in it’s place.
An approach that can be effective with anything that we want to make happen.
If we just intend each week to “fit our workouts in” at some point………
That approach will probably lead to the same results as it previously has.
If we were to schedule those workouts as soon as we possibly can (maybe even on a weekly repeat)………
Or at the very least, “hold” a time……….
Then they are much more likely to happen.
Sure, sometimes they’ll end up moving.
Sometimes they might not happen at all.
But I’m pretty confident that they’ll happen more often.
Much love,
Jon ‘Wilson Phillips’ Hall
P.S. If you want help to create a knowingly sub-optimal approach that actually does happen, and are ready to accept that over a theoretically better approach that doesn’t, then pop to www.myrise.co.uk/apply to arrange your risk free trial of our programme which does exactly that!
