Have you ever said that you can’t do something because of some reason?
Silly question
We all have.
You know the kind of thing.
Some version of “I can’t X because Y”
“I can’t get to the gym because I’m busy.”
“I can’t exercise because I’m injured.”
“I can’t lose weight because I’ve got a lot of social events on.”
“I can’t eat better because I don’t have loads of time to cook from fresh and meal prep.”
Or anything else not related to the health and fitness side of things.
As, hopefully you’ll know of me, I’m not going to dispute any of those things are factors.
I am though, as you might expect, going to give you a bit of a reframe as to how you can approach that.
Just take that same sentence………
And turn “I can’t X because of Y”……..
Into “How can I X, given that Y?”
“How can I get to the gym given that I’m busy?”
“How I can I exercise given that I’m injured?”
“How can I lose weight given that I’ve got a lot of social events on?”
“How can I eat better given that I don’t have loads of time to cook from fresh and meal prep?”

That “barrier” stops being an insurmountable blockage.
And become something to navigate around.
It’s not in the way.
It’s on the way.
It might mean we don’t take the theoretically “best” route from A to B.
But it doesn’t mean there isn’t a route from A to B that we could take.
So, next time you find yourself thinking “I can’t X because Y”, try and reframe that to “How can I X given that Y?
Much love,
