Who remembers this joke from childhood?

“How do you turn a duck into a Rhythm and Blues singer?”

“You put it in the oven until it’s Bill Withers”

You probably need to know that the Bill Withers is the name of a Rhythm and Blues singer who was fairly famous in the 70s and 80s for that joke to work.

He’s probably most famous for “Ain’t No Sunshine”.

Closely followed by ‘Lean on Me’ I reckon.

I was listening to ‘Lean on Me’ in the car the other day.

Sometimes in our lives
We all have pain
We all have sorrow
But if we are wise
We know that there’s always tomorrow

Lean on me
When you’re not strong
And I’ll be your friend
I’ll help you carry on…

For it won’t be long
Till I’m gonna need somebody to lean on
Please swallow your pride
If I have things you need to borrow
For no one can fill
Those of your needs that you won’t let show

You just call on me brother when you need a hand
We all need somebody to lean on
I just might have a problem that you’ll understand
We all need somebody to lean on

Lean on me
When you’re not strong
And I’ll be your friend
I’ll help you carry on…

We know 2020 was a painful year for most.

2021 will have much of the same.

But, let’s be honest………..

Every year has it’s challenges.

Life’s not easy.

It’s even harder when we go all “lone wolf”.

Just keep telling ourselves “I know what I need to do, I just need to do it”.

We’ll be your friend.

We’ll help you carry on.

But you need to swallow your pride.

To call on us (Here’s how –> myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting).

There’s only so much we can do by sending blogs, videos and the like out.

Much love,
