In yesterday’s blog, I talked about how to become more confident.
And how not to.
Which, sadly, is often the way that we’re led to believe is what’s needed.
In today’s blog I’m going to talk about how not to protect your existing confidence.
Which is also probably the opposite of what we’ve heard.
We don’t protect our confidence by avoiding things that could knock it.
Keeping away from situations that could go wrong will not maintain our confidence……..
But erode it over time.
I would wager that if you asked 100 people when was the last time they did something that could have gone wrong……………
And then lined them up in order……..
There would be a reasonable correlation to if the question had been “how confident are you?”.
It might seem a bit ‘chicken and egg’.
Already confident people doing more stuff that could go wrong.
But I would wager that is only part of the story.
Doing things slightly outside of our comfort zone can help grow our confidence.
But some is needed to just maintain.
So, next time we’re a little unsure about something because of what could happen (like going to www.myrise.co.uk/apply to try out our programme in the same way every one of our success stories did)……..
It might just be worth leaning into.
Much love,
Jon ‘How for now’ Hall
