One question we get asked regularly is about ‘detoxes’.

And one point that we occasionally get some smart arses making on the facebook page (or in replies to these emails) is that “There’s no such thing as detoxing. The body detoxes naturally”.

Usually from the same guys that say “You can’t tone a muscle”.

If the body detoxes naturally, is that not detoxing?

It’s like saying “There’s no such thing as seeing. Your eyes automatically see when you open them”.

So the best way to detox?

Allow the body to do it’s natural process.

By not constantly adding more toxins.

You wouldn’t just focus on clearing up an oil spill if the tanker was still spewing oil into the sea.

You’d stop the spill, no?

Or at least do them both at the same time.

And probably put steps in place so minimise how often oil spills happened in the future.

If at all.

The body does detox naturally.

But minimising the toxins placed in the body will allow it to do it much more effectively.

And quickly.

And allow the body to other, more useful stuff more effectively.

The key to good detoxing is not to then immediately re-tox.

De-tox, don’t re-tox.

Catchy no?

Much love,

P.S. Yes, I just googled “rhymes with detox”
