It was my youngest son Jamie’s 3rd Birthday yesterday (you can see him dressed as ‘Darth Hammer’ by clickinghere if you’re amused my small children).
I never buy any, but invariably cake makes an appearance at such events.
As always I didn’t have any.
I just find it much easier to “not eat cake” than to try and “have it in moderation”.
BTW, does anyone who ever says “Everything’s ok in moderation” ever have six-pack? 😉
I used to eat cake though.
Loved the stuff.
Until I just accepted that it was making me fat – for those that don’t know me, I used to be fat – 16st 10lbs when I left Uni 12 years ago, check me out here (on the right):
I used to feel “I should be able to eat what I like”.
I’m sure you’ve felt the same way at times.
It’s easy to get annoyed about stuff we “should be able to do”.
Research shows only 25% of the UK population have good insulin tolerance and can tolerate high sugar and starch diets.
So, when I accepted I was part of the other 75% and, unfair as it seemed to be, it just was the case, it became much easier to make the change.
Chances are if you eat cake (or any similar “treats”) and are not slim, you’re in the same 75% as I am.
I appreciate it can be annoying – especially if you know people who seem to be able to eat anything they like and stay slim (the other 25%).
When not helping people to transform their lives and bodies, Jon can usually be found either playing with his kids or taxi-ing them around.
