Over the last few days I’ve had a few people ask me “Don’t you ever give up?”

Some people who’d expressed interest in what we do, who I’d been continuing to check in with, even though they hadn’t responded.

And a number of members who I’ve been following up with despite getting radio silence.

And there’s a short answer.

“No”.

I don’t give up.

I don’t give up so that you don’t.

People come to me for my help with something they’re finding difficult.

And if I gave up trying to help them, then I’d be doing them a disservice.

Look, I’m not a jerk.

If someone tells me they’re no longer interested, then I’ll obviously leave them alone.

But if the last thing they’ve expressly asked me to do is contact them, hold them accountable, check in with them…….

Then I’m going to do that.

And coming up to 25 years of doing this has taught me that, most of the time, when people don’t respond they’re just busy / don’t quite get around to it / have gone a bit ‘head in the sand’.

So many times over the years, after I’ve kept following people up, they’ve thanked me for not giving up on them.

I respect a no, but experience has taught me silence often isn’t a no.

Ultimately, I can’t make someone do something they don’t want to do.

But I can keep trying to help them do something they’ve told me they want to do.

I don’t give up so that you don’t.

Much love,

Jon ‘Rick Rolled’ Hall
