I’ve recently fitted a couple of new light fittings.
One in my step-daughter’s room.
Just a newer, funkier looking fitting to replace the old one that came with the house.
And a multi directional four spot light fitting for my eldest son as the corners of his room were a bit dark.
I was fairly confident I knew what to do, but it’s been quite a while since I’ve done anything with mains electric.
So I had a quick Google to make sure I’d remembered the right wire colourings, etc.
To make sure that the positive and negative wires go in the right places.
And, of course, between them, the ‘earth’.
The neutral.
Because, between positive and negative there is always a neutral.
In all things.
And all have their place.
Without any one, it doesn’t work.
It’s fine to feel negative.
It’s fine to feel positive.
Both have their place.
And we can move freely between the two.
But there’s always that ‘earth’ in between.
That ‘staying grounded’.
True to ourselves.
Only by remembering what that means to us………
What is important to us……..
What we really care about and value………
Can we really stay ‘connected’.
Switched on.
Much love,
Jon ‘Drive’ Hall
