Had a couple of frosty mornings recently, haven’t we?

This invariably leads to some late arrivals for the early morning sessions at RISE.

“Sorry I’m late – I had to defrost the car” they usually say.

Which is fine.

Got to be done.

Taking that two to three minutes so get that sorted invariably leads to a better outcome than not.

Driving off with an icy windscreen is asking for trouble.

— Although I would question those who it’s made 7 minutes late ๐Ÿ˜‰ —

Those two or three minutes taken before something can often be invaluable.

Giving some quick thought to what we plan to eat that day (or the next) – and then sticking to that.

Looking at the diary on a Sunday night and planning (and booking) our workouts for the week.

Putting a plan into place for the day with regards to everything else that means we make time for the most important thing – looking after ourselves.

Like defrosting our car, it’s tempting to cut this short.

To start driving off when there’s just a small clear gap in the middle of the windscreen.

To not give enough time to, or completely leave, any planning for the day or week.

But, just as crashing out car would make that instantly not worth it…………..

‘Crashing our body and health’ isn’t worth it either.

Much love,

Jon ‘Chilly McFreeze’ Hall and Matt ‘Ice Dagger’ Nicholson

P.S. While you’re taking a few minutes, it’s just over two weeks to our monthly find out more meeting – for a January start. Go check it out atย myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting.

P.P.S. More frankly tenuous middle names – 5 points up for grabs!
