I mentioned in yesterday’s blog the phrase “I just like to go with the flow”.
Probably the most commonly heard response that I get to suggestions that people might benefit from a bit more planning and scheduling in their life.
And I get that.
Sounds appealing.
And it’s fine.
Going with the flow is ok
Until it isn’t.
If going with the flow enables us to create a body and life that we’re happy with, then that’s awesome.
If it stops that happening, I’d question it.
Because ultimately going with the flow, is having our direction dictated by external forces.
If we were going with the flow while paddling down the stream………
We’d be going where the water took us.
And if that water is taking us somewhere that we don’t want to go………
Then maybe going with the flow isn’t the best approach.
Maybe creating our own flow is.
Making more decisions about what we do and the direction that we take.
A more conscious effort to create the results we desire rather than just hoping for the best.
Hope is not a strategy.
The irony, of course, is that when we go with the flow we’re often putting other people’s needs ahead of our own.
But, when we do, what needs to be done to look after our body, energy levels and happiness………
Most of those people around us benefit (apply now at www.myrise.co.uk/apply if you’ve come to accept that looking after yourself will actually benefit those around you, not take away from them).
Much love,
