Have you ever thought “I just need to be more committed”?

You, perhaps, feel that you show a lack of commitment?

It’s not true.

You’re already committed.

To lots of things.

Work.

Family.

Eating.

Socialising.

Drinking.

Watching TV.

Our favourite programmes.

There will be things we “just do” on a regular basis.

Because, probably without realising it, they tie into what we value.

The kind of person we see ourselves as being.

What’s important to us.

And realising that can be powerful.

Knowing that we are already committed, rather than thinking we suffer from a lack of commitment…………

Can mean we start to look at what we are committed to………..

And how we can replicate that with other things.

What is it about that thing that we’re committed to that is important to us?

Is it the opportunity it creates elsewhere in our life (money, time, mental focus, etc)?

Is it how it makes us feel (relaxed, important, productive, content, happy, etc)?

Is it how it benefits others (kids, partner, friends, family, colleagues, etc)?

No right or wrong – no reason is any more “worthy” than another.

They’re our reasons for doing the things we’re already committed to.

And, having got clear on that, how do the things we’ve previously struggled to do, fit in with those things?

If they don’t at all, just don’t do them.

They’ve obviously not important to you – don’t let anyone tell you that should be otherwise.

But, chances are, they will.

How do those exercise, food and drink and lifestyle choices (because that’s probably what we’re meaning here) fit in with those opportunities it creates in our life, how it makes us feel and how it benefits those around us?

How can we approach what we’ve previously struggled to do regularly in the same way as what we’re already committed to?

Much love,

Jon ‘Issues’ Hall

P.S. Joining RISE isn’t a commitment as such as we don’t tie people into a minimum term like standards gyms do. But most stay due to the results they get (and because, for the first time ever, they enjoy it). Find out more about that by entering your details at www.myrise.co.uk/apply
