Most months I get a couple of messages in the last few days.
From people telling me they need to cancel or freeze for a month.
Because of something coming up.
They’ve got a couple of week’s holiday so would only be in the club for half the month for example.
Or they’re away with work an amount.
Or they’ve got “a lot on and won’t be able to get in much”.
Now, I get it.
We all want to feel we’re getting our “money’s worth”.
That we’re getting full value.
And that, when we can’t, it can be tempting to “leave it”.
Ultimately though, that “all or nothing” approach is often what’s caused us to be in a position we’re not happy with.
That ‘dichotomous thinking’………….
‘Black or white’ way of seeing things.
That makes it all about stopping.
With a view to ‘starting again’ at some point in the future.
When “it’s a better time”.
Unfortunately though, the stars rarely align.
One thing is replaced with another.
If we’re working off the two options of “getting full value out of it” or “not doing it at all”…………………
It’ll usually end up being “not doing it at all”.
From my experience those that request to freeze the most are those that get the least results.
Not always, sure.
But usually.
Those that accept that the fluctuation circumstances of life will mean that they will need to ‘slow down and speed up’………………
But they don’t need stop completely…………….
Are (again from my experience) much more likely to get where they want to get to.
Ultimately, what we do, is help people RISE.
The RTP sessions in the club are part of that, sure.
But only part.
And they’re the only part that are particularly location dependant (although we live stream them all and they’re available on catch up so we can always get three or more in per week, whatever’s happening).
RISE is an approach to life.
One we can chose to adopt, on average, all the time.
Doesn’t mean living like a monk.
But making the average of our choices take us in the direction we want to go in.
And that’s not something we ever need to ‘freeze’.
Much love,
Jon ‘Dr. Victor Fries’ Hall
