Have you ever not done something because you felt you couldn’t “give it 100%”?

I’m sure we all probably have.

Not started something because we felt we “have too much on”?

Maybe we didn’t (or aren’t) exercising or making changes to our eating because we we can’t give it that 100%?

We get it.

But, as you might expect, it’s worth questioning.

When can we ever give something 100%?

How many times in our life have we really ever been able to give something an amount that could never be topped?

We could’ve always done more, couldn’t we?

And that’s fine.

It’s impossible to give anything 100%.

Other areas of our lives would suffer if we did.

If we truly gave something so much that it was physically impossible to give it anything more.

In reality, we always give things a percentage less than 100.

Realising that is powerful.

It stops us waiting for that point that will never arrive.

If we can give it enough “percents” (as my kids used to call them) to make forward progress, why not do that?

If our body and health is going in the direction we want it to, that’s enough.

If it’s not, how much more is needed.

We’re not looking to go from 0 to 100%.

Maybe from the 30 we’re currently doing to 40 or 50?

Ultimately, those numbers are largely estimated.

But never forget we don’t need to (nor should we) wait till we can “give this 100%”.

Because that will never happen!

Much love,
