I’ll be honest with you, I don’t wear make up on any day of the week.

It’s a line from the Jess Glynne song ‘Thursday’.

I was listening to it the other day after my wife criticised my play list for not having any modern music on (the 90s is still modern, isn’t it?).

And I put the ‘Best of What’s New to Prime’ (#RandomCapitalisation) playlist on to show her.

Go have a listen if you’re not aware of the song.

I’ll wait……………

……………..

As she sings, “Cause who I am is enough”.

We’re known at RISE for our ‘transformations’.

But these transformations aren’t, as you may assume, about actually changing the person themselves.

About making them ‘more’.

Because they are ‘enough’ already.

We all are.

You are perfect as you are.

What often happens though is years and years of other commitments, habits, conflicting information, frustrations, challenges and more………..

Serve to ‘cover up’ the real us.

Antoine de Saint Exupéry famously said that “perfection is attained not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing more to remove.”

We can become like a sculpture that’s still encased in the granite block.

Like a butterfly still in the caterpillar.

We just need to chip away until that real us comes out.

And a successful transformation comes when we learn where best to ‘chip’.

Much love,

Jon ‘and Dale’ Hall and Matt ‘Only wear make up on Thursdays’ Nicholson
