So – we were tagged in one of our new ninjas Facebook photo over the weekend.
Showing the healthy food shop she’d done in preparation for her ’20lbs challenge’ which starts today.
Lots of yummy looking stuff there was.
But one of the comments below caught our eye.
A friend had said “I’d get bored eating the same thing all the time”.
The idea that eating healthily is in some way restrictive or boring is another one of those ‘bullshit stories’ we tell ourselves that can hold us back in getting what we really want.
Between all the different meats, fish, veg, fruit, nuts, pulses, etc (and loads of different cooking methods) there must be thousands, if not millions, of different combinations / dishes we can make.
You could probably go the rest of your life without having exactly the same meal again and still keeping it healthy.
The only limit is your imagination and willingness to learn new cooking methods.
Our new ninjas often comment that they are surprised how much tasty stuff they can have.
And the interesting thing we usually notice with people who think eating healthily has to be boring or limited?
That they often only eat a very small range of foods themselves as it it.
Cereal and coffee for breakfast.
Sandwich, crisps, chocolate bar and a diet coke for lunch.
Bit more variation at tea, but often only from a handful of options.
That’s cool if they want to do that.
But it’s an interesting observation.
So if you’re still in the mindset that healthy eating is boring and / or limited, then hopefully this has helped you question that.
And if others are giving you this story, you can now realise it is only that 🙂
Much love,

P.S. 10 points for those middle names (without googling)!
