When people unsubscribe from these emails, they can chose to leave comments.

They often make fascinating reading.

Sometimes they’ll say something like “You send too many emails”.

Which translates to “I can’t be bothered to spend 3 minutes a day on something that will help me change my life and body”.

Sometimes they’ll accuse us of being ‘condescending’.

Of ‘not understanding’.

Or being ‘arrogant’.

Maybe of ‘talking down to people’.

Which is nonsense as we make it very clear that we’re not perfect.

We face the same challenges as everyone.

Make the same mistakes.

Just because we’ve got the hang of staying in reasonable shape and are good at helping others get in better shape, doesn’t mean all areas of our lives are perfect.

The email that has caused them to unsubscribe has clearly hit a button.

It’s p*ssed them off.

BTW, I’m putting that asterix in as I’m aware many of you have profanity filters on work emails.

I listen to lots of podcasts, read lots of articles and book and watch lots of videos on training, nutrition, mindset, business and so on.

Sometimes I’ll find myself getting annoyed with what I’m reading / listening to.

Pretty much every time I realise at some point that I’m annoyed as it’s pointing out something in me.

Holding a mirror up.

And I’m not liking what I see.

And when that’s the case, I realise I need to change something.

Not shoot the messenger.

So if any of these points, that we’ve made repeatedly over the years, annoy you – then chances are they’re true.

We don’t get annoyed by stuff that isn’t true do we?

  1. Getting in shape / being healthy is simple. Easy? No! Simple? Yes!

  1. Whatever your reasons for not doing ‘it’, others will have overcome these challenges before. And are continuing to do so today.

  1. You have the time and money to get healthier and be in better shape. You’re just choosing to spend it elsewhere.

  1. You CAN do every thing you need to do to get there. If you don’t think it’s worth it and would rather direct time, money and effort elsewhere, that’s cool. It’s your choice. But it’s a choice you’re making.

If these things p*ss you off, then you may want to hit the unsubscribe button at the bottom of this email.

Because we’ll be making similar points on a daily basis for the foreseeable future.

Much love,
